Problem with Measuring tool Acrobat PRO DC 2022

Measuring tool does not allow me to follow lines that are at an angel on plans I'm trying to measure. it will only measure in 90 degree direction up or right/left direction not allowing me to follow the line I'm trying to measure as it has worked before. I'm using DC pro version. Furthermore, I have old AA Pro X on my computer as well and it work correctly on that application. Can this be corrected. this feature is the main reason I subscribe to your service. Please see images as reference.

    other than up-voting that I am not sure what else can be done.
