Problems wih OCR text recognition in Adobe Acrobat DC PRO FRL

Hi

We reacently started using the new version of Adobe - DC PRO FRL - and we have a problem getting the OCR text recognition to function properly. We have somewhat large files - usually around 500-800 pages. With our old version it would usually take around 10 minutes for the text recognition to go through the file. We now see it taking up to 2.5 hours. It is a huge problem for us, since we receive around 30.000 cases a year, that all need to go through the OCR text recognition.

Any idea as to what we can do? Any changes in settings, that will help it speed the proces up?

Thank you for your help.

Searchable image "Exact"?

Or not "Exact"? (recompressed and downsampled)

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but we save it as the smallest file possible.

What "FRL" means? I never saw that in an Acrobat name.

What setting do you use? "Searchable image" or "Editable Text and Image"?

FRL= Feature Restricted Licence

The setting is searchable image.

We get excellent results from ABBYY Fine Reader. More accurate OCR and faster than Adobe Acrobat.

Many scanners come with a free scaled down license of ABBYY Fine Reader that can be upgraded to a full working version if needed. Or the freebie might do what you need, too.

Thanks. Not sure it'll work for us, if we need to use two separate programs. But I will look into it.

What is "Acrobat DC PRO FRL"?

What is your "old version"? (number)

Adobe Acrobat DC Pro FRL is the version we are updating to. It's Adobe 22.002.20191

The "old version" is Adobe Acrobat 2017 pro - adobe 17.012.30262.
