Hello,
Whenever I convert a PowerPoint presentation to PDF with my Adobe Acrobate Pro, the Aptos font has a very low quality and bad resolution - especially at font size 12.
I already checked many options, but nothing works.
Can somebody help? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
it seems that the Aptos font isn't installed on your computer and the PowerPoint app is only using the Cloud version of that font.
Fonts that aren't localy present on your system while creating a PDF will be rasterized to preserve the visual style of your presentation.
From 2023, Microsoft changed the default font for its Office products from Calibri to Aptos.
The users may freely use the Aptos font in any Microsoft Office app, but it won't be visible in any other program.
How to fix it? You can try to activate that font locally in a simillar fashion as you activate fonts from Adobe applications. Open Microsoft PowerPoint and in the fonts menu find the Aptos font. There should be a small cloud icon on the right side of the menu. You can activate that font locally by clicking on the cloud icon. It will still be limited to Office apps but you should be able to export your PDF without a problem.
The other solution may be to install Aptos font on your system, which should definitely solve the issue, but may present licensing limitations. After you activate the fonts in PowerPoint, use the WIN + R shortcut, paste this line:
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\FontCache\4\CloudFonts
and hit OK.
You should be redirected to the folder with local Office fonts where you can get the orginal font files and install them manually.
Best Regards,
David

Hello David,
Thanks for your help.
All Aptos fonds are properly installed. I see them in PowerPoint and in the windows fonts files (without cloud symbol). (But not in Adobe Acrobat Pro.)
Still the resolution is very bad when I convert the presentation to PDF - especially at font size 12.
Any other recommendations?
Best regards,
Joe

Try the second solution I mentioned at the end of my reply.

As I said before, If you can't see them in Acrobat, they aren't really installed on your system, merely placed in a separate folder accessible only to the Office apps.
There are multiple ways how to export PDF from PowerPoint. Which one are you currently using?

Hi David,
Thanks again for your help.
I have now installed all Aptos fonts and can see them also in Adobe Acrobat Pro. I produced a PDF but still the same problem...
I also tried to overwrite the bad quality text in the PDF. But even if I choose Aptos and type it again in a text field. the quality is still bad.
However, I realised that only Font size 12 is bad. If I change to 13, it is OK. Very strange...
I tried all ways to convert - convert with print too, the PDF bar button, the Adobe menu in the file manager etc.. "Microft print to PDF" produce even the best quality, but then I have a wide margin on the top and bottom.
Very strange and annoying - especially as we talk about an MS standard font.
Maybe there is something with the PP presentation that cause this problem.
Kind regards,
Joe
