Hello, I have prepared a pdf catalogue of my products and  I want to add videos of the procucts into the catalogue. I want to publish it on my Company's web site for online view. I am trying to make clear 2 things before I purchase the relevant application.

1- Is it possible to add videos to a pdf document (documents size is app. 18 MB) using the adobe products?

2- (If yes to question 1) Is it possible to load a pdf document including videos to a web site for online view by visitors of the web site?

I noticed that an application called "flipsnack" enables this, however it is costly. It includes many other elements which I don't need to use. If I can do these using adobe products, I prefer to purchase adobe.

Thank you.

"you need to instruct your users to download the file and open it using Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat), and not open it in their browser window."

Any PDF form maker should know this great tip, copy-paste this URL in  Google Translate:

Hi @Özay5C55,

Remember the KISS principle.  Keep it sweet & simple.

PDF is the wrong solution IMO.  Create your product catalog online with HTML code and use HTML5 video which is natively supported by all web devices.  Best of all, there is nothing to download and no special viewers are required.  Your web-based catalog & videos will be viewable online from any browser 24/7.

Yes and no. More no than yes. You can add videos to PDF in Acrobat, sure. You can view the videos in Acrobat or the free Acrobat Reader. But, with one minor exception, you CANNOT View the videos in a browser. Nor on any mobile device, phone etc. Forget it, really. Link to web pages with videos on your site or you YouTube.

1. Yes, in mp4 format.

2. Yes, but this has nothing to do with Acrobat or Adobe. You upload the file to your web-server and add a link to it to your web-page, just like any other asset. If you want it to work properly, though, you need to instruct your users to download the file and open it using Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat), and not open it in their browser window.

Hi Özay

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out. As described you want to publish PDF catalog with videos on website.

You can add rich media files/videos to the PDF file using the 'Rich Media Tool' available in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC application. To know how please check the help page - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/rich-media.html

Would you mind sharing the workfow/steps you did to create the PDF catalog?

If its a PDF portfolio, Acrobat can convert a PDF Portfolio to an SWF file for others to view on a website. All file navigation and video controls are available to users with access to the website. For more information please checkout the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/publish-share-pdf-portfolios.html

Hope this information will help

Regards

Amal

Amal, I think you may have missed the memo that Flash player is discontinued, so nobody can play SWF files anywhere. Yes, an official Adobe web  still says how to do it, which is regrettable.
