Question

"Print form fields only" option not working on my MacBook Air—All I'm getting is blank pages.

I'm using my MacBook Air (in case the operating system makes a difference) to try to print just the form fields of a pdf, which I downloaded to my computer rather than created myself, using Adboe Acrobat Pro. I have completely filled and saved the document / verified there are no active security settings that would prevent the form entries from printing, at least that I could find, and looked through all the other document & app properties & preferences, respectively, for something that might fix the issue, but to no avail. All I get when I select the "form fields only" print option is a bunch of blank pages. What's up with that?

Hi master_moments7944,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble.

Please let us know if you are trying to print the PDF form. If yes, please ensure the form fields' properties are set to print. You may check that using the following steps:

- Open the PDF in Acrobat.

- Click on the Prepare a form under All tools and select the Create form button.

- Select the form field and right-click on it.

- Click on Properties and go to the General tab.

- Under the common properties, ensure the form field is not set to "Visible but doesn't print".

If that is not the case, try the troubleshooting steps provided in the following help document: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html. Also, check if the issue occurs with other PDFs too.

Feel free to let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

I can only think of one thing - that maybe these aren't actually form fields any more. There are ways this can happen.

So please check this by going to one of the form fields and clicking in it - can you still type in the form field, changing what you typed before? Be sure you do NOT click Edit PDF at all, that isn't for form fields (it's quite the opposite).

Another possibility is that the fields themselves are set to "Visible, but doesn't print".
