Re: Acrobat Pro 9 installed but will not accept serial number
Hello Anand Sri,
your advice does not work for me. Maybe you have another workaround?
When installing a purchased "used" newer version , for which I had to uninstall my Acrobat 9 pro (from the CS4 bundle), my antivirus program barked "Crack Trojan!". So I cancelled the installation, restored my Acrobat 9 via restore point and backup. The serial number was then requested (why?), but the authentic one was not accepted. I tried to re-install pro 9.0 from my CS4 DVDs, saying woefully goodbye to my patiently installed updates, but it would not work either. In the Adobe FAQ it is advised to de- and reinstall the whole CS4. But I did not trust it, fearing the complete shutdown of my working instruments. Here in the forum I got the explanation that servers up to Acrobat 9 and CS4 were shut down.
Experts continuously state that Acrobat 9 would not work with Win 10, which is absolute rubbish. I had Win10 when I installed CS4, and Acrobat 9 worked flawlessly. Some days before the above mentioned deinstallation, a printout problem could be fixed with the overdue updates to 9.5.5).
The registration has strangely disappeared from my account. When I enter the serial number in the search, it reports that it is in use. Yes, that is true!!! By me!!! This is absurd. As for the old versions, the support is not willing to help, I'm already thinking about suing Adobe for the release of a valid serial number for my legally paid version, but that would of course take much more time than the generously granted 30-days trial on my own software. So I hope that I eventually get a useful clue here.
Best,
Marieluise
