Thank you for reporting this to us.
As mentioned, you have experienced this issue with the Read-Mode, not the full-screen mode. Is it something you have started experiencing recently, or with any specific file, this issue occurs?
Try the following steps and see if that helps:
1- Check with a different file and see if that file is causing the same problem,
2-
Go to Acrobat> Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once (you must save all the work before restarting)
To download the patch manually, more information about this release is here: Release Notes | Adobe Acrobat, Reader
3- Even after updating the version, if you continue to experience the same issue, then change the following preferences setting and check back:
Navigate to Acrobat>Edit>Preferences>Security (Enhanced)>disable "Protected View" and "Enhanced Security">OK>close and reopen Acrobat.
Note: these changes are only for testing purposes. Once tested, please change it back to the previous setting.
If none of the solutions provided above works, then please share the exact version of Acrobat and OS installed on your machine.
Open Acrobat>help>About Acrobat (Win)
Thanks,
Akanchha

Can you please share a sample file causing a hang issue in Read mode? We want to test the same on our end.
