Question

Read out loud stops after each paragraph even when I’ve chosen whole document

Read out loud stops after each paragraph, and will not advance to the next one. Nor can I select multiple paragraphs for read out loud to read. When I choose read until the end of document, it wants to begin at the very beginning of the document instead of where I am trying to read from. This is very frustrating. I have not found any other people in the forum with this issue. I am wondering if perhaps I need to re-export to word reformat the document, and then re-PDF it?

Acrobat's built in Read Out Loud is not a screen reader.

It is an antiquated piece of junk that Adobe acquired years ago and tossed into Acrobat.

Don't expect it to perform as a real screen reader does.

And definitely do not use it to test accessibility of a document; you'll get false positives and false negatives.

Not worth your time.

Instead, use a real screen reader, such as JAWS or NVDA (which is free from https://www.nvaccess.org/post/nvda-2019-1-1-update-available-for-download/   And learn how to use it: see our list of free tutorials in one of our recent blogs, https://www.pubcom.com/blog/2019_04-05/checking-with-screenreaders.shtml
