Redaction throws "A number is out of range"

Community Beginner ,

In my sample(please refer to the attached),

it throws the message "A number is out of range" when I apply Redaction,

One of Acrobat support team said they cannot investigate what causes the issue because the PDF was generated or modified by a 3rd party tool and so 3rd party provider should figure it out what's wrong.

I am surprised to hear that Acrobat doesn't support PDFs from 3'rd party.

Anyway I have no choice but to investigate the file for myself and found that some XObjects(which seems dummy/invisible or invalid ones) causes the issue. After I remove fours XObjects in the sample from Content Panel, the issue are gone and Redaction works as expected.

So can I say it's a bug on Acrobat to throws "A number is out of range"?

And is there any alternative solution to remove all invalid XObjects at once, for example, by saving it to other PDF format or by Preflight?

Thanks

Jason

Hi @Jeongmo5F91

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

Could you please confirm if the issue started recently?

Would you mind sharing the Acrobat and OS version numbers on the machine? Also, please share the PDF file in question and the small video recording of the issue for a better understanding.

Regards

Amal

HI Amal

My version is 2022.003.20322.

I think it's not new. I saw this issue with old Acrobat DC version.

The file was already attached under the original post.

Refer to "Redaction_error.pdf"
