I am unable to 'apply' redactions to my documents using Adobe Acrobat pro desktop app. When I click apply I am met with a white box and 'wheel of death' loading circle - the only way to quit the app is to restart my computer. Is someone able to help me resolve this issue please?

Hi @Sophie3125994303re
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that
Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.
What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.03.20244 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.
Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.
Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...
You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.
Also, go to Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > General > Uncheck 'Show online storage when saving files' and 'Show online storage when opening file' > Click OK and reboot the application.
For testing, please go Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable Protected mode at startup' > Click OK and reboot the application and check.
Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.

Amal

Hi Amal,
Thanks for your response. I have downloaded multiple files and attempted redacting information and have experienced the same problem for them all.
I am using Adobe Acrobat DC version 2023-003-20244 and there are no updates needed.
I am struggling to reset the preferences as per your instructions, although think this could be really helpful as my language preferences are stuck on English with Arabic, making it difficult for me to edit documents. Are you able to offer further help or is there someone I can call for support?
Thanks,
Sophie

What are the other options you can choose from in the Application Language list other than "English يدعم العربية"?

The only other options are 'choose at application startup' or 'same as operating system'. Nothing has changed when I clicked both

From our experience, when you select "Choose at application startup" this will give you the chance to select the "English" language the next time you run Acrobat, just watch for a pop-up message at starting up Acrobat.
