Reducing paper waste with poster print

Hello,

I am trying to print a pdf file that is 22" x 34". When I go to poster print, it tiles it on 8 sheets of 11x17 paper making the total printed size 34x44. I need to keep the document at actual size and clipping in the margins is ok because there's enough space in the document to permit .25" on each edge. 

Is there a way to get the document to print on 4 sheets of 11x17 paper?

This is an automatic layout. You can't do much, except with overlap and scale. May be by changing the orientation, you would get nearer to your goal.
