Remove pdf doc from its Original

Downloaded a pdf doc from a web site.  Saved to desktop with new name.  It still retains its html google icon amnd is not a Pro capable doc features.  How do I get rid of the html link and get a true pdf doc?

You probably saved a Google shortcut, not the actual PDF file.

 

Use your computer's operating system to associate PDF files with Acrobat.  From Windows File Explorer, right-click on any PDF file and select Properties. See screenshot:
