Restore Last Session

Question

Office of 400, we have updated to Reader DC AUG. build which included the new Restore Last Session option, it is unchecked in Edit>>>Preferences>>>General>>>"Open PDF's from last session on Acrobat launch" however when a new/second Adobe is opened we receive the below message. Choosing restore does nothing and using the "x" does not close. Uninstall/Reinstall remains unchanged, clearing 'SessionManager' reg key works for one go around but issue returns. InterWebs is littered with rerpots of issues, any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

Thank you for reaching out. As described above, you are experiencing issues with restore last session, correct?

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC you are using? To check the version of the application please use the help link - https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product-version.html

What is the OS and the version?

Please check for any missing updates and try updating the application. Go to Help > Check for Updates. To know more about the latest version please use the link - https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html

Try repairing the installation (For Windows Only) Go to Help > Repair Installation.

Also, try to reset the preferences to default https://community.adobe.com/t5/Acrobat/How-to-reset-Acrobat-Preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and reboot the system and see if that helps.

If it still doesn't work

Please try the following steps:

Remove the application using the Adobe Acrobat Cleaner Tool - https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Reboot the computer
Install the application using the link - https://get.adobe.com/reader/
