My W7 pc has Acrobat Pro 8.  Registered 08/25/2010.  I'm retiring old computer and need to move Acrobat to new W10 machine. My Adobe account confirms that it was registered and includes a 24 digit code (serial number?).  How do I download the install version for the new computer?

Acrobat 8 is extremely old. It was not compatible with Windows 7, and it's certainly not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected...

The Acrobat 8 activation server was retired by Adobe a while ago. This means you can no longer use your existing installer or serial number.

The good news is that Adobe offers a new, non-activation installer and new non-activation serial number for you to reinstall the software.

You will need your old 24 digit serial number to obtain a new, non-activation one. After that, you can discard your old serial number.

Go to Download Acrobat 8 and Acrobat 9, sign in with your Adobe ID and follow the instructions to obtain your new CS3 installer and serial number.

Problem solved. Acrobat 8 is installed and it works.

I have the same issue with Elements v 7.0 but can’t find the link to the download site. Can you direct me where to find it?

..and you can expect some (or a lot) of problems if you have an incompatible (ie, newer) os.

CS3 and Acrobat 8 activation server is retired see reply #1 https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2372929

-you MUST use the special serial number AND the special installer you download, not your originals

-above includes a link to get the special version AND links to help with activation problems

-more information on activation problems with the new version https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2385900

No, it's not still true. CS3 is retired forever, but there is NO replacement any more. It's gone, you need to get up to date.
