I set my preferences in Acrobat Pro DC to "show rulers when opening documents", but it NEVER works. I have to manually show the rulers. Not a big deal, but it SHOULD work. See screen shot.

Try setting the preference with no documents open. Also the preference to Restore last view setting should be off (Document preferences).

Try the initial view settings- File> Properties> Initial View> User interface options> Hide window controls, If this is checked on, it will override your Acrobat ruler preferences.

Is your Acrobat fully updated? (Help> Check for updates)

It's working for me here on a Mac. You could try resetting your Acrobat preferences to default. Read the instructions carefully if you do this, as this will reset your custom settings as well as other things*. If it's still not working, you may need to re-install Acrobat, when you see the option to save your existing preferences, say no.

*If you have a collection of custom preflight profiles, export them to a folder and import them back into Acrobat after resetting preferences or re-installing.

Was going to try resetting, but I'm on Monterey and it looks like everything is different than it was in 2017. I really would rather not reinstall, but I guess I will.

Are you fully updated (OS & Acrobat)? I'm using an older OS.

There are often "glitches" when a new OS is introduced, (which is why many users wait a few months for the fixes to be released).

Are you using more than one monitor? There have been reports of issues when multiple monitors are used with Monterey. You can report this to Adobe as a bug.  https://acrobat.uservoice.com/forums/590923-acrobat-for-windows-and-mac

I highly recommend using a cheap external hard drive and Time Machine, that way you can easily revert to the old install (and OS) if you prefer, the real value comes if (when) your hard drive crashes, you won't loose much work.

Yes, fully updated on both OS & Acrobat. Only using one monitor. We have even have backups of our backups! Just trying to fix this one problem (well, there was another one with Acrobat, but that's on another thread 😉 Seems many folks are having the same problems, though.
