Hi @jutta_8459,

Thank you for reaching out.

We see that you’re encountering a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error while attempting to install Adobe Acrobat 10. Please note that Acrobat 10 is an end-of-life product and is no longer supported by Adobe. As a result, it may not install or function correctly on modern operating systems, such as Windows 10 or 11.

That said, here are a few steps you can try if you still wish to proceed with the installation:

Suggested Troubleshooting Steps (Install Time)

1. Run the Installer as Administrator

  • Right-click on the Acrobat setup file → choose “Run as administrator”.

2. Use Compatibility Mode

  • Right-click on the setup file → Properties → Compatibility tab → check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” → select Windows 7 or Windows XP.

3. Install Required Microsoft Visual C++ Packages

  • Acrobat 10 relies on older Visual C++ redistributables. Please download and install:

4. Disable Antivirus or Windows Defender Temporarily

  • In some cases, security software may block older installers.

5. Reboot and Retry

  • After performing the above steps, restart your machine and try running the installer again.

Please note that while these steps may help temporarily, Acrobat 10 is not optimized for modern environments and may continue to have issues.

Recommended Path:

We suggest upgrading to a supported version of Adobe Acrobat for full functionality and compatibility:

  • For basic PDF viewing, you can download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  • For editing, combining files, signing documents, and other advanced features, consider Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, which is fully supported and works with the latest Windows versions.

Let us know how it works.
