Saving Microsoft WORD or PUBLISHER file as PDF

I'm based in Australia and use A4 as the standard papersize. When I SAVE AS PDF, my files often switch to LETTER size which doesn't work for me. I use the free version of ADOBE  READER. How do I SAVE AS PDF and keep the paper size as A4?

You aren't using any Adobe software to make the PDF, so I'm not sure what advice we can now give.

@Jay29667864lynp ,

As suggested by @Abambo you must use the "Print to PDF" method.

"Save As" only saves a copy of the original file to another directory or a different file name (nothing more).

Using "Print to PDF" will allow you to choose page sized at printing time from a list of presets that are already provided by the operating system (which is not exclusively nor entirely handled by the Adobe Acrobat software).

I've used the PRINT TO PDF method and that still has the PDF saved in LETTER format. 😞

If you are using “Save as PDF”, you are using a Microsoft function. Your document needs to be in the format, you want to output. If the document is letter sized, the PDF will be. In all cases, Adobe has nothing to do with your problem. Any problem-solving will involve the Microsoft tools, eventually also your printer settings.

Acrobat Reader does what it says, it reads PDF files. It does not modify the page size of any file it reads.
