Scaling down 600 page pdf

New Here ,
May 26, 2025 May 26, 2025

I want to resize my 600 page pdf to a smaller page size.
currently it is 8.5 x 11" and I want to scale it down to 3.5 x 5.7 , ensuring the text and other elements stay in proportion and scale down appropriately. It's very difficult since the file is big. I have tried the "set box pages" , I have also tried the print preflight option. I use a Mac. Nothing is working honestly and it's frustrating. I'm a beginner. Need help asap, thanks.

Hi mahaa_2552,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble.

Please let us know what happens when you try to use the "set box pages" or the Preflight option. Is it not working, or are the results not as required?

Ensure that you are using the correct steps. Please use the steps suggested below to change the page size using he preflight:

1. In the preflight window, select the Acrobat Pro DC 2015 profile.

2. Then select the Profiles tab.

3. Click on the wrench icon.

4. Click on the Pages title for the drop-down options.

5. Scroll down till the option "Scale pages to specified size".

6. Select the option and click on the Edit next to the option or the Fix button at the bottom right of the Preflight window.

7. Set the required measurement.

Feel free to let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi meenakshi,

thank you for your quick response.
actually when I did the preflight option it did not give me exact size page , just gave me the closest it could because most likely the ration of the bigger size doesn't get exactly the size I want .. so I try to do the Set box pages,. And it just gives me dialog box after I put in custom dimensions that "page size may not be reduced." You have any suggestions for this?

@mahaa_2552 . Try it again, but Edit the Preflight like so.

Since your smaller pages aren't proportionally the same as your original size, you will have extra white top and bottom.

You can use the Adobe PDF printer to scale up or down a PDF. Just select the page size or enter a custom page size under the Properties.
