Scanned PDF gets an Access denied

Community Beginner ,
Aug 24, 2024 Aug 24, 2024

I have been scanning just fine until a couple of days ago. Now when I scan the PDF and then try to open it, it gives me the error message access denied file cannot be found, or sometimes access denied file is corrupt, etc. I have used 2 different scanners with the same result. I have removed the enhanced security feature and tried most things different articles have suggested and nothing works. I can open any PDF files currently on my system with no problem, I also have the latest Adobe Reader. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, @ImageFirstPrinting, what is your OS, and what is the release?

Also, where are the files that you're trying to access located? External hard drive? Desktop? Where?

Thanks

The files are scanned to a network folder on a Windows 2016 Server, the scanner is connected to a Windows 11 Pro computer, I am not sure of the release as I am not on-site at the moment, but it has never had this issue until a few days ago. I can access and open all previous files sent from the scanner to the network folder, but nothing new. I also have another computer where I moved the scanner to and it scans to the folder just fine, so not the scanner itself.

Hi @ImageFirstPrinting

I'm following up to see if you are still experiencing the issue. If so, let us know, and we'd be happy to assist.

You may try adding the network location as a privileged location. To add that:

  • Launch Acrobat.
  • User Cmd+k or Ctrl + k > Preference window.
  • Security(enhanced)
  • Add Folder Path
  • Click Ok.
  • Re-launch Acrobat and test.

If the issue is still reproducible, you may want to check with your Network IT team to see if they have made changes to access or changes security policies. Let us know.
