Scanning from Acrobat Pro 9.0 to Canon MX870 Way Too Slow... Help

AFter using this program and printer for a number of years to successfully scan documents (both color and B&W), all of a sudden the scanning is taking an extraodinarily long amount of time.  I have already tried changing the "data transfer mode" from native to memory mode in Acrobat Pro 9.0, and also have deleted and reinstalled the full suite of printer driver software for the Canon Pixima MX870 within my Windows 10 operating system.  Any help to restore performance to scan from printer to Acrobat 9.0 to create PDFs would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Larry

What other Windows 10 software titles are out there that allow scanning from the computer to the Canon printer to create PDFs that are not as expensive as the current Adobe Acrobat Pro?

I scanned from the printer control panel directly to the computer.  Scanning time and quality was rapid and robust as it used to be when I used the scan to pdf feature within Acrobat 9.  No cables have been changed.

Thanks, Larry

This software has been working fine with Windows 10 since Windows 10 was release; it just started acting up recently.

Does Adobe have an upgrade program to go from Pro 9 to the current software at a lower cost?

Exactly. "Incompatible" means it's not tested, and therefore can break at any moment, even for no apparent reason. And Windows 10 is set to install updates automatically, so you can't really know if something changed behind-the-scenes recently or not.

And no, there's no upgrade path from version 9 to the current version. It's too old.

Acrobat 9 is not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected.
