Scanning to PDF changes my page size.

I have a Brother Printer/Scanner. I'm trying to scan documents onto my computer and save as PDFs. The documents I'm scanning are standard letter size but once a document opens into Adobe, it changes my page size to 10.76 by 8.26. I have been in touch with Brother support and they assure me it is not on their end. I'm tired of wasting ink and paper trying to find a solution to this problem. Any ideas would be appreciated.

From Acrobat, go to File> Create> PDF from scanner, navivate to your connected scanner, choose letter size.

Hi Luke,

Thanks for your reply to my adobe question on the community page. I opened
my adobe acrobat reader program and followed your steps until Create PDF
from scanner. I only have the option to create a PDF from a file already
downloaded on my computer, it doesn't say anything about having the option
to scan.

Acrobat Reader can't scan documents.

That's what I thought...My issue comes up between scanning documents from
my Brother Printer/Scanner and opening them in Adobe. They always show up
with a page size of 10.76 by 8.26 so I can never have true "Letter"
margins.

Acrobat Reader doesn't change the page size. It display only what is in the file.

If you are scanning with Brother software, then it chooses the page size.  Really, nothing to do with Acrobat Reader which only tells you what was done.

You are correct. After three tries with Brother online support they went up
the ladder to a technician who informed me that my particular printer does
not have edge printing. Thanks for everyone's help.

It should be 8 1/2 x 11" (rather that 11x8 1/2).  Maybe something there?
