Screen Readers having difficulties with online browser based Acrobat App

Question

I produce accesible PDFs, which need to be read by screen reading software, JAWs, NVDA, Apple and Android etc, on phones they tend to work but on PCs from browsers it is less certain.

There seems to be some problems between browsers in what they will or won't read, PDF Forms are not available in the Adobe App browser version, and it differs across platforms and browsers.

Is there going to be an accessibility standard adopted across them all, can it tie in to the WCAG standards?

Thanks, yes I get that the issue is with the browsers.

Is it the case that the browsers have their own PDF viewers, or do they access some knid of ADOBE app?

I am just concerned that since lots of users are now accessing PDFs via browsers and that is becoming the default, that the accesibility features which in some countries are legally binding are not going to be usable.

For my clients who are blind or partially sighted PDFs are becoming more difficult to use as a consequence, I just wish there was a solution, a standard that can be adopted across browsers to allow fro Accesibile PDFs to work.

If you open a PDF from inside a browser, the responsibility for handling the PDF is with the browser manufacturer. Any company can build software to interact with PDF files. Adobe is only involved, when you use Acrobat to access the files.
