I share PDFs with multiple clients.  Some clients cannot do a word search in the PDF.  What is the issue or solution?

You need to provide more details than that.

Starting with:

- Where are they opening the files (on what device, and in what application)?

- What exactly happens when they try to search them? Are there no results? Do they not find the Search function? Does it search but finds incorrect matches? etc.

Good questions, to which I do not have answers. I am told they cannot search the PDF and I provide a new file.

Not being able to search a PDF has happened to me at least once. I have Acrobat Pro, and PC in a Windows enviornment, often on TEAMS. In my case, control F to open the search field, type in a word, to which I get "no results found," when I am looking at the word on a specific page in the PDF.

The fact you see a word doesn't mean it's actually there. It could be a part of an image, or it could be "real" text but badly encoded. Can you select that text with the mouse? If so, copy it and paste elsewhere, like in Notepad. Does it come out looking the same as it did in the PDF file?
