Set Default Page View to either "Fit to Height" or "Zoom to Page Level"

I perhaps the same issue you do. I may have a way to do this on a per document level. My problem is when I binder hundreds of documents into a single PDF every time I click on a bookmark to go to a particular document it changes the view to "Fit to Width" when what I really want is to keep the "Fit to Page" view. This is the workaround:

1. Open up the Bookmark Navigation Pane;

2. Select all Bookmarks (CTRL + A) works;

3. Right Click and select Properties

4. Select the second Tab titled "Actions"

5. At the bottom under "Actions" click on the Edit button

6. the "Go to a page in this document" window will open, under Zoom, change from "Fit Width" to "Fit Page"

7. Save.

First, let’s make sure we are defining “Binder” the same way. When you combine multiple files into one PDF the default name is “Binder1.pdf”. Is that how you are defining ‘binder”? If not, please define your use so we are speaking the same language.

When you make a PDF (or binder), you can set the Initial View in File > Document Setup > Initial View to be any zoom you want. The PDF will open to that zoom level and can then be changed after it is opened.

As a user, you can change the view in Preferences to open PDFs in any zoom you want as long as the Initial View is set to Default and not a specific setting. Preferences is on the Edit menu in Windows and Acrobat menu on the Mac. I am not in my office right now, but I think this is one of the first five preferences settings. Click through and you should see it, or I can check later.
