Setting to "ask to Save" a PDF when downloading a file

When I would dowload a file I would be asked where I wanted to save the PDF file to, now the file just opens automatically in Adobe without asking where to save. Not convenient for what I do.

Please advise if anyone has any ideas! Much appreciated!

You can turn off this feature via preferences. Kindly un-check below preference from the preferences dialog(ctrl+k / cmd+k) in Reader.

Preferences -> General -> Open PDFs automatically in Reader when they are downloaded in Chrome browser

I think Adobe on the web is capable of stealing the work you do

It is not about opening the PDFs, it is about asking to Save them before opening.

The PDFs are already being opened automatically when downloading, I just want the option to save to certain folders first which I was doing in the past and then all of a sudden Adobe is not doing this anymore.

Thank you in advance.

Hey @Kia35114435i515

I get your problem now, your issue is with chrome settings and not Reader. You can change your chrome setting here:

chrome://settings/downloads

Just enable - "Ask where to save each file before downloading"

Any idea how to fix in Google Chrome browser? This has just started happening, haven't had an issue with this before.

I have gone into the Extension for Adobe in Chrome and the option to ask before saving is selected, so.... ?

Chrome is a spyware, you should not use it.
