Sharing edited .pdf where the other person can see my comments

I am a college student using Canvas. I have to upload an editing assignment that shows edits and my comments on the edits. When I upload it, my professor can see the edits (strikethrough, etc) but not my comments. How can I make sure the comments are shown when I share the document?

Hi @warm_Mischief2524

Thanks for reaching out.
It seems you are sharing the file using Canva. If you have a PDF document, you need to share that using Acrobat. In that case, the recipient can see comments.

Hi-I did create and edit the file using Acrobat. However, I have to submit the .pdf to Canvas (our Learning Managment System) and it is in Canvas that the comments are not showing up. The only solution I could find was to include a comment summary from Acrobat to include with my original submission. I would like to find a better soloution though if there is one, given that I'll have the same instructor next semester. She wants everything submitted as a .pdf.

Thanks for sharing the details.

The feature you’re looking for — the ability to view comments or annotations created in Adobe Acrobat — would depend on how the receiving application (in this case, Canva) handles and displays standard PDF annotations.

Adobe Acrobat uses industry-standard formats for comments and markups, which are supported in many PDF viewers. However, applications like Canva may have their own rendering methods and may not currently support viewing PDF comments created in external tools.

Since Adobe doesn’t have control over how third-party platforms interpret and display PDF content, we recommend checking with Canva to see if this functionality is currently supported or planned.

We’re happy to help confirm that the comments are correctly embedded on the Acrobat side, or assist with any further questions you have.
