Hi,

I just start to use Adobe pro for editing some technical documentations.

I have a strange bug,

When I "add text" and start to write something, each time I end the sentence with a dot - " . ", she just jump to the beginning of the sentence.

Or if I want to have a short sentence and to end him after only few words, it still happens.

Also happen with " , "

What I want -

The kids are very happy.

What I get -

.The kids are very happy

Thank you.

Hi.

I have been getting incredibly frustrated by the same issue for about 3 weeks now and have just managed to remedy it by complete chance after going through every single preference option and trying various combinations! Hopefully this works for you.

All in the "preferences" menu:

- Content Management: Ensure reading order is left-right (assuming that is the direction you read and write in).

- Language: Ensure Application Language is set to "Same as the operating system" and that again, the Default Reading Direction is set to "Left to Right". Tick the "Enable right-to-left language options" (although I'm not sure if this makes any difference at all but I have it ticked!). In Select Font, choose "GB183 compatible font" instead of application default. I think this mnight be an important one. The again insure that "Left to Right" is chosen in the middle eastern language tab, and untick all three options of "Ligatures", "Hindi Digints" and "Enable Writing Direction Switching".

- Search: Untick "Ignore Asian character width" and "Ignore Diactrics and Accents"

I'd be really interested to see if this works for you as well. It's certainly fixed the problem my end!

Hi there, I've got the same issue. I've fixed it with ctrl k --> Language and then in main paragraph direction I've changed right to left into left to right. To try this you need to create a new text because if you keep editing the previous text it will not work. I hope this will help all the people in this situation.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing. It didnt work, no matter what I did (changing the direction from "Left to Right" to Right to Left and vice versa. Also starting the text from scratch didnt work. My workaround was to add a letter and paint it in white. This worked.

Hi Itsikl,

As you have mentioned above, whenever you place a dot at the end of the sentence, it jumps to the beginning of the sentence.

Could you please let us know if it is an issue with a particular file?

Did you try to replicate the issue with other files? If not please do and let us know how it goes.

Let us know the dot version of the Adobe Acrobat application installed on your system.

You may refer the steps provided here Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC to heck the dot version of the application.

Are you on Mac or Windows? What is the OS version installed on the machine?

It will be helpful if you can share any one file with which you are experiencing the issue.

You can share the file with the steps provided over here How to share a document.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Meenakshi

HI GUYS...

I had same problem and I tried many diffrent ways for solving it but it doesn't work.

Finally I Found and solve it!!!!

Go to this address:

control panel --> region --> administrative tab ----> language for non-Unicode programs ---> change system local -----> (put it on English United States) (check  " Beta:Use Unicode UTF-8 ..." ) then restart PC and enjoy editing using adobe acrobat pro...

if you have other kind of language (esp: Middle Eastern Language with Right to Left direction):

Open adobe acrobat pro----> ctrl+k ---> Language ----> Main paragraph diriction ----> Right to Left

(OS: Windows 64-bit, Win 10)

I hope work for you!!  🙂

Are you writing in Hebrew, by any chance?

lol no, just English, exactly as the example.

Although the fact that I have Hebrew on my PC has something with that problem.
