Slow and lagging editing experience with Acrobat PRO

I need to edit a larger PDF file with text and figures.

The experience is infuriating to say the least.

Deleting text spends 2 seconds to delete 1 character while also blinking so that im unable to see where im actually at in the delete process.
Genereally the whole experience is extremely slow and painful. I actually gave up as i was unable to hit the text box again to try to delete the text instead it just made a new text box. And because of the general slow reaction from the program its actually unusable.

The PDF is pretty large but its obvioulsy a program limitation and not CPU horsepower.

My CPU is running at 4,3-4,4ghz which is the maximum boost for the CPU but its at around 15-20% utilization.

PDF files were never meant to be edited in this way. Acrobat allows you to do it, but it should be avoided if at all possible.

If you have access to the original file used to create the PDF make the edits there and then create a new PDF file from it.
