Sticky notes and comments disappeared in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020

I spent hours reviewing and commenting with sticky notes on my pdf document.  I went to type a degree (°) symbol in my sticky note, and suddenly all my sticky notes and comments disappeared.  I'm using a MacBook Pro.  How can I undo whatever happened or retrieve my sticky notes?

Hi @lindah67427777

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. Also, a small video recording of the steps you are doing would be very helpful.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version, go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.03.20215 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also check for any filters applied in the comment section and that all the comments are visible, as shown in the screenshot below:

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal

Hi Amal,

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 Version 2020.005.30467.  It was just the attached document that I was working on, and I made a command to make a degree symbol °, and all my comments disappeared in that instant.  I have no idea why it happened, but I would like to get all my comments back as I'm trying to meet a deadline for comments.  As I explained in my first few messages, I am using a MacBook Pro and my operating system is Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1  As you can see the comment section shows that I have 47 comments, but only the new one I made was visible.  Why are my 46 other original comments not visible - how can I get them back?  I have attached the file I was working on.  Thanks!

Hi Amal,

It was a simple remedy, but it was too late to save me from having to start over and redo my comments.  My daughter immediately figured it out because she nailed it as a filter problem.  It turns out that when I made the degree symbol on a Macbook Pro, which is a Shift+Option+8 I triggered a filter that removed my comments from view - it only showed the number of comments at the top.  She quickly figured out that clearing the filter with command+8 would bring them back into view.  It worked and they all appeared again.  She said that using hotkeys can sometimes lead to strange problems.

I thought I would try adding another comment to see if it would display, and it did.  Also, at the top of the comments column, it displayed that it was 1 of 47 comments.  So, how do I display the other 46 comments?
