Question

Stop signing history from being added to pdf document

I have a coworker that needs to sign a document.

  1. He sends me his pdf.
  2. I add the adobe fill & sign field for "signature" so that he can sign his document from his desktop or mobile device.
  3. After he signs the document field, this will return a signed copy to me, and to him by email.

-But what also happens is an additional page is added to our newly signed PDF showing the history of each step getting this document signed.  We don't want this additional history page added to his document. We want him to be able to forward the signed document as is and the recipient doesn't need an entire page tacked on about the history of our process.

Is there a way to turn off that option so that he receives just his document, now signed, without the history page being added?   Thank you for your time.

Hi Metallums,

Sorry for the delay in response.

As per the workflow you have mentioned above, you are sending the document to your coworker via Adobe Sign.

The history page you are referring to is the document audit report. If you do not need that report, please refer to the steps provided below:

- Open the link Sign In — e-signature and e-sign Software Solution — Adobe Sign

- Sign in to your Adobe Sign account

- Then go to Account > Account Settings > Global Settings.

- At right, under " Attach audit report to documents" you will get the option to make changes.

Check the screenshot below.

You can also download the signed document as PDF directly from the Adobe Sign.

Hope that the information helps.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Hi Meenakshi.  Thanks for the directions.   That looks like exactly what I need.  However I don't seem quite able to reach the same settings as I see in your image.

So, I don't actually have a separate Adobe Sign account, I don't think. I only have a CC account. When I log in at your supplied link, it just redirects me to my documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home .   There I can see the signed documents.

I can go into settings from there(document cloud) by clicking my signed in icon at top right, then choose Settings, then choose Edit Signature Settings from the Document Cloud Settings window that opens (see image).   This says Adobe Sign settings can be edited at the Adobe Sign website by clicking the Edit Signature Settings link.

After clicking Edit Signature Settings, I'm taken to the following Settings page: (image)

On this page, I can't seem to find "Attach audit report to documents" or "Global Settings" anywhere.

I don't know if a separate Adobe Sign account is needed to actually edit these Audit report settings or not.  I hope not.  But from your image it appears you are in a different type of account management window which has the  (Home,Send,Manage,Account)  that mine does not.

As you have mentioned above you have a CC account, it includes Adobe Sign individual service.

The Global settings are only available with the team, business, and enterprise-level services.

If you just need the PDF without the audit report, you can use the following steps:

- Login to your Document Cloud account and go to for signature.

- Then select the document from the list and click on the "Download PDF" option provided at the right-hand side of the screen.

Hope that helps.

Meenakshi
