Submit Mailto option in PDF from a web browser

Good Morning,

I am trying to alter an old PDF that was made 10+ yrs ago with Adobe Acrobat Pro.. With most web browsers these days now supporting PDF's.. I would like it so that my users at work can open a PDF link from our internal website. and fill out form and click the submit button and then once they submit it, have it send that PDF from their email client (MS Outlook/O365) .. But everything i try, i cannot get it to submit from any web browser. It still works great if a user has the form opened up in Adobe Acrobat Reader.. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Shawn

So far as I know, browsers support "proper" submit to web servers - http or https - but not mailto. It will vary with the browser.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid of that.

++Adding to the discussion,

The only web browser that is currently respecting PDFs with mailto JavaScript actions is Microsoft Edge web browser.
