Text Box gets rotated when I copy/paste it

I work with pages that I've created from a web application (a work database), where I print multiple pages to a single pdf file. These pages (we'll call A-type pages) are printed in a Landscape view. I then insert another pdf into this pdf (a pdf which I had created, with all the pages/text turned to Landscape - we'll call this B-type pages). I use these B-type pages as "section dividers" for the A-Type pages. Then, using the Thumbnails, I drag and drop the A-type pages in between the B-type pages, to get them in to the order that I need. On these B-type pages, I have certain text boxes saved, that I may need to copy/paste onto some of the A-type pages.

I've been using this process for years with no issue, until I just recently had to upgrade my Adobe software (requirement of my company). Now, every time I copy/paste that same text box from the B-type pages on to an A-type page, my text box gets rotated 90 degrees. However, if I were to copy/paste that same text box onto a B-type page, it does not get rotated.

What is causing this?

I honestly never knew that there was any difference between choosing Adobe PDF vs Microsoft print to PDF - to me the results were always the same, so I never paid attention to which one I chose. So I can't answer your question of which I was using before. But I will try using the Adobe PDF instead. Thanks so much! Very helpful!


Update2: This was absolutely the answer! Sure enough, when I print my pages using "Adobe PDF" instead of "Microsoft Print to PDF" the text box no longer gets rotated. Thanks again!

(see attachment) Pages 1, 5 and 9 are "B-Type" pages. And the other pages are "A-Type" pages (just pages printed from Amazon, printed the same way I would print my pages from my work database). You'll notice on page 9 there is a small "example text" text box. This is the text box I copied and then pasted onto page 5 and page 11. You'll see on page 5 (B-type page) the text box pasted correctly. But on page 11 (A-Type page) the text box is rotated 90 degrees.

I am taking a look at the file.

 

What was the version of Acrobat Pro that you were using before and what is the the upgrade version that you're experiencing this issue with?

 

I did notice that you were using Mirosoft Print to PDF in your document. I used Chrome web browser to navigate to that Amazon page and use Mcrosoft Print to PDF to replicate your scenario.

 

When the document conversion to PDF finalized, I opened it with Acrobat Pro DC then I copied and pasted the annotations that you had in the original document that you shared here and pasted them in the new PDF document; such annotation properties did not  retain (or respect ) the page orientation to landscape for some reason.

 

However, I tested printing the same webpage using the same  web browser but this time I used instead the Adobe PDF as the printer for this action;  I was able to copy and paste from your original document all the annotations to the one I created using this method and had no problem with the orientation of the annotations.

 

My question is, if you were always using Microsoft Print to PDF before and never had the issue before?

 

Or, if you just went ahead and clicked on print and the default PDF creator that you might've have before (Adobe PDF) reverted to Microsoft Print to PDF' during your company upgrade?

 

Maybe you'll need to manually set the Adobe PDF as the default option again at the user/desktop level, or just be aware of this observation before commiting the print action and manually select  Adobe PDF instead of Microsoft Print to PDF.
