Text Box Opacity/Transparency in Adobe Acrobat v11.0.0

Dear everyone,

I'd like to ask if it's possible to adjust the opacity or transparency in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (v11.0.0)?

Right now, if there is material behind/at the rear of the text box, this material will show through and muddle up my text box. I'd like the text box to cover the background.

    Right click on the text box, choose Properties, then adjust features as needed. 

    In your case, you would set the Opacity to 100% and press OK.

    If you're using the Add Text tool in the Content Editing panel, then there's no 'box' to se the background color of - that tool applies new text directly into the page content.

    If you're using the Text Box tool under Comment > Drawing Markups, then after you've entered the text just  right-click on either the comment itself or the entry in the Comments List panel, and choose Properties. On the dialog box, change the Fill Color to something other than 'none'.

      I was able to do this with the Text Box tool under Comment > Drawing Markups, but this latter tool does not seem to allow me to change Font Size to 11 which I could do with the Add Text tool . Also, it responds much more slowly to what I type on my keyboard. For instance, when I type something, the Text Box flickers away to show what's underneath, and onljy after then does the changes appear in the Text Box.

      I did not see an answer to this question, which I stumbled across myself in 10 and works the same in XI, so I assume XI pro would be the same.

      Place a new text box on the page, then click on the border, opening a dialog box. Choose "Properties" and change those to your liking, then do the same process to "Make current properties default."

      I had tons of trouble trying to edit the text font, size, etc. in text boxes, and found an answer in the forums on Acrobat 10. I use both 10 and 11 and it works fine: Exit the text box, then double click. The cursor ends up inside the text box and blinking. Press Ctrl + E key, and voila! The edit toolbar now floats above the screen, allowing you to make edits for text sizes, etc.

      At that point, go through the first step to "Make current properties default" from now until you change them again.
