Text Comment Tool Hiding text after writing

I am using Adobe Acrobat Standard. When in comment tool bar using the text coment tool "T" it works fine until getting out of the comment and then the text disapears or is hidden. If I reselect the Text box it will reappear until unselected and then disappear again.  I have been using the text box tool to get around this but it is not the proper tool I want to use. I feel there is a simple solution, how do I fix this?
