Text has inconsistent font while typing

Hello!

 

I started my page in free adobe DC and moved to premium. However, when I try to add new words onto the document, every 3rd or 4th character that I type into the chat box becomes bolded (below). I am using MacOS Software. I am a beginner to using this software, so any help is appreciated. Thank you!

    There may be something weird with the font inside the PDF - I notice it isn't so much every 3-4 characters, as particular characters. One thing to try is to change the font to Arial. Geneva was designed to look much like Arial.
