I am using Acrobat DC (2018.009.20050) to convert MS Visio files to PDF. My Visio files contain many text boxes. When I search for a word in the PDF, it not only highlights/finds the word I am searching for, but many other text boxes which do not contain the word.
This occurs when searching the PDF using Acrobat or Reader, but not Nitro or FoxIt.
Any idea it would be highlighting the text inside text boxes that do not contain the word I am searching for?

Hello Mark,
Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Please check for the latest update of Acrobat from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing the update and see if this brings any difference.
Navigate to Edit>Preferences>Search>Under Fast Find>Click on Purge Cache contents, Close Acrobat and check again.
Is it specific to one PDF or with all the PDF files? If it is specific to one PDF, Is that possible to share the PDF file with us so that we can test it at our end?
To share the file, please use Adobe Send feature, upload the file, share the link to files via private message only, How Do I Send Private Message
Let us know how it goes and share your findings.
Regards,
Anand Sri.

Hello AnandSri,
I have the same problem with acrobat reader DC(32-bit). My PC is 64bit machine, intel.
Also, when I enter 3 characters in the search pattern window, acrobat hangs for seconds.
These two phenomenon is very annoying some times.
I think this happens for a specific big file. Can I send you this pdf file so you can test?
