Textboxes won't appear unless I use "Prepare Form"

I have a form with many textboxes and checkboxes. However, as soon as I exit "Prepare Form" or click "Fill and Sign" all the blue textboxes and checkboxes disappear. I can't select them nor type where they are either, it just straight up does not work. I have never had this issue with any other program. I attached two screenshots, one showing that the textboxes are clearly there under "prepare form", and another showing that when I use fill and sign the textboxes disappear. Isn't the function of fill and sign supposed to be to allow you to fill the textboxes and sign? What is even the point of the feature if it makes the textboxes disappear?
