The redacting tool freezes app forever - workaround solution doesn't work either

I've learned this is a common problem with the software...when you use the redaction tool, it freezes the app when you click "apply." I've read from forumns about the workaround, but it's not working so I'm seeking advice on another solution and workaround.

Just to clarify, this is what I've tried and what my experience was.
1st WORKAROUND I TIED: Change the language from ENGLISH WITH ARABIC SUPPORT to ENGLISH; 

Edit>Preferences>Language
Select "Choose at application startup",

close Acrobat and reopen it.

When prompted, select English and check if the issue with the redact tool is resolved.

 

Unfortunately, these options aren't the same in my preferences. When I go to Language, there's no "choose at application startup." There is a drop down for application language but there is not an option with "ENGLISH WITH ARABIC SUPPORT." When I did this the first time, it was set on "Same as the operating system" (and my computer is set to "english" with "US" as the region).

Ironically, the first time tried the workaround, though I didn't have the same options as the workaround instructions listed, I selected "ENGLISH (US)" and then restarted the app. The redacting tool actually WORKED and I thought I was in the clear. I then started using it again an hour later and it started freezing again and no amount of toggling the settings in the language section could get it to work again.

 

Does anyone know of another solution or workaround I can try???

Jan 15, 2025 and the issue still there. I'm trying to redact two lines and the app freezes! What is it doing? scanning my hard drive? or contacting NASA?

I just tried Bluebeam Revu Exterem and it took 2 seconds to redact two lines lol
