Tiling blank PDF images to accommodate a large image

Hey guys, im blanking as I have done this once before but im trying to blow up a picture to create a multi page print out so I can take them together after printing and cut it out. I used to be able to add multiple blank pages on the create pdf screen and then drop an image onto it and size it up and see it across the multiple pages. I used to use this to judge its size before printing. when I expand it now it only fills the one blank image I have. When I go to the print options and turn it to a poster, all it sees is the one blank page with one part of the picture inside of it. The rest of the expanded image is not accounted for. I did this once before on an older version of acrobat but I am just running out of ideas. I have looked at other posts trying to find the answer as I feel its probably simple but I cant find what im looking for.. hope I can find some help in here.
