Tiling Pattern in pdf

We receive a pdf from a customer. The logo element is CMYK, but in the pdf supplied using pitstop it showed up as tiling pattern. The logo did not print. Trying to figure what causes the conversion so I can get back to the customer. I believe they use automation of some type to make their pdfs. Doesn't happen on all images.

I think you need to contact tech support for the RIP Or pagination system. Patterns are normal, failing to print them isn’t...

Yes, but these problem PDFs: Do they show the problem on all printer types? It’s Possible you have a printer problem, not a file problem.

I can print the pdf through an office inkjet and it prints fine. It is when it is paginated. Happened on a few ads and the logo had converted from cmyk to the patterned image. It looks fine when it is brought into the page (newspaper), but when it goes through the rips is when it doesn't print. Can't tell there is an issues as all looks good.

That doesn't necessarily mean the pattern has a problem, it might be a Pitstop limitation (a tiling pattern can have many colours and colour spaces). Does the print problem happen on all types of printer?
