Good morning,

Your website is a confusing and uninformative mess.

From your home page, there is a link to “Adobe Acrobat” and “Acrobat plan and prince” (Figure 1).

On that page, it appears there are only two versions of “Adobe Acrobat” (although the page now indicates “Acrobat DC”): “Acrobat Pro DC” and “Acrobat Standard DC” (Figure 2)

Also on this page, it appears you have removed the French format of the price…good.

In Figure 3, you compare these two version using an effective and informative table with checkmarks under each product ….good.

In Figure 4 “Compare versions of Adobe Acrobat”,  the comparison is broken down into sections for “Pro” and “Standard”. In the “Pro” section, the comparison is with previous version of “Pro” ??!!.

If you are going to do this, the order is more intuitive if the current version was listed first, then 2017, then “XI”.

Figure 5 should be like above also.

In Figure 6, the comparison is between “Acrobat Reader” and “Acrobat Pro DC”. However, the format has been changed from that of Figure 3 to one where the features are listed redundantly ?

In both Figure 7 and Figure 8, the sub-menu is label “Adobe Acrobat” !!!

In Figure 9, I learn there is an “Acrobat PDF Pack” in addition to an “Acrobat Export PDF” !!!!

So, in fact, there are five (5) version of “Adobe Acrobat” !

Adobe Acrobat DC Pro

Adobe Acrobat DC Standard

Adobe Acrobat Reader

Adobe Acrobat Export PDF

Adobe Acrobat PDF Pack

PAINFUL to have to discover this myself !!!!

Adobe does its best to hide it, since they're trying to push people towards the subscription model.

And yes, it can be quite confusing, mostly due to the very poorly done name changes in the last couple of years.

You can find all Acrobat versions here, though: https://www.adobe.com/products/catalog.html?types=pf_252Fdesktop&types=pf_252Fmobile&types=pf_252Fweb#search=acrobat

Actually, that's not the set. Acrobat 2017 was not the previous product but a different product. Acrobat 2017 is replaced by Acrobat 2020, which comes in Pro and Standard versions. This is a distinct product line, separate from Acrobat DC.

Where did you find Acrobat 2020?

This only muddies the waters further !

To summarize, there are 3 main types of "apps" called Acrobat:

  • A standalone application that allows creating and editing PDF files, called Adobe Acrobat. This one is split into two sub-categories: Subscription-based and Perpetual-license. The former is called Acrobat DC. The latter is called (currently) Acrobat 2020. Within each one of those products there are also two variants, called Pro and Standard. The latter of those two has limited functionalities compared to the Pro version, and is only available on Windows machines.
  • A standalone application that only allows viewing PDF files, called Adobe Acrobat Reader. There's also a mobile version of this application.
  • Online based services that allow various limited editing functions, called Acrobat PDF Pack or Acrobat Export PDF.
