Transfer Acrobat 9 Program to New Computer

Got new computer for xmas. Massive upgrade, but, no disc drive. Have Acrobat9 on my old computer and use it often. How do I transfer the program from the old computer to the new. I have the actual software/discs, but, again, no disc drive on new computer. Thank you.

Whoever you spoke to at Adobe was absolutely WRONG! No one on these forums can provide download link information to you. That information is provided by Adobe Customer Support. These forums are not Adobe Customer Support and the participants here for the most part are fellow users, not Adobe staff. And even the Adobe staff here cannot help with this type of issue.

And as of a while ago, Adobe does not publish any public links to download older software versions.

Call back Adobe Customer Support and insist on speaking with a supervisor. Provide them with your account information and serial number and they will provide you with the appropriate download link. And if that person is clueless, ask for their supervisor.

I bought a new computer. Used Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0 constantly on old computer. Tried the new adobe software and do NOT like. Want to transfer old 9.0 to new computer. I have registration number, but NO disc. It must have been a direct download years ago... I contacted Adobe and they were ZERO assistance. Other than they DID refer me to this forum... Can anyone HELP ME?

I have Acrobat 9 which is from CS5, so I think you'll need a different download link

Also you don't mention operating system, so notes on both Mac and Windows

CS6 and earlier programs HAVE NOT BEEN TESTED AND WILL NOT BE UPDATED for Mac El Capitan or newer operating systems

-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems due to Apple updates

-this is about the 4+ year old CS6, but it will probably apply to other programs of that age

-Apple did not maintain backward compatibility with old programs in El Capitan or newer operating systems

--Adobe has a workaround to Apple's problem of not maintaining backward compatibility

--READ HERE https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2301916 for an Adobe solution to installing old programs, including a link to installing the old Java runtime that is required

Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... this says Encore, but is sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account) so follow the instructions, substituting the name and location of your specific program for Encore
