Trouble Installing Adobe Acrobat XI Standard

My laptop crashed and I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat XI on my new machine. However, when I download the installer file from Download Acrobat XI, Acrobat X , and try to install it it tells me I'm installing the Pro version, not the Standard. Additionally my serial number doesn't work as it's for the standard version of the program, not the pro version.

Where can I download and install the Adobe XI Standard version for Windows machines?

I've resolved the problem.

The issue seems to be the professional and standard installs have files with the same names, and when you run the installer the default is to skip duplicate files, not overwrite them. I'd previously downloaded and ran but aborted the professional install (I wasn't sure if my serial number was for standard or pro, initially) so when I ran the standard installer it was still pulling from some of the professional version's files.

My solution (which worked): just delete the folder with the original files and run the install again.

Yes I did. To be clear: I selected the "For Windows" option under "Acrobat XI Standard Installer," which downloaded file "AcrobatStd_11_Web_WWMUI.exe". Opening the file ran a download extractor.

However at the next stage (I believe it was called the Bootleg Installer?), the dialog indicated it was installing "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.07)":

When prompted I tried to enter my serial number but was told it was wrong -- which it is for the Pro installation; I'm trying to run the standard one. I just can't seem to get it by clicking the "Standard" link on the download page. Grrrr.....

Was this a retail Acrobat Standard or something else (volume license, student, included with scanner...)?

Do you get a message about “qualifying serial”?

What is the size in MB of your download?
