Unable to digitally sign PDF using CAC Card on MacBook Pro

I am unable to digitally sign PDF documents on my Macbook pro Catalina OS. .I ensured that the settings are correct but when I attempt to sign anything adobe asks me to configire a digital ID. I am able to log onto CAC enabled websites but not able to sign pdf documents.

I would say to go first to:

Review CAC Card configuration steps that you could've missed.

 

And contact directly the Mac support individual listed in that page.

 

If none of that guidance works, open Adobe Acrobat , go to Edit --->>> Preferences, and try these suggestions:

 

  • Go to Trust Manager and ensure that in the "Automatic Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) updates" check the tick box that is labeled "Load trusted certificates from an Adobe AATL server" and click on the Update Now button.
  • Then goto "Signatures". In the " Identities & Trusted Certificates" section click on "More" button. There are two sections next: Digital IDs and Trusted Certificates. You should see in both lists your digital ID and the issuing trusted authority there.
  • If these are not listed proceed for manual installation and register your digital ID following this guidance:
