Unable to open a PDF receipt in Acrobat 9 PRO

I just had a first.  I downloaded a PDF receipt from a PA State Game Commission site and Acrobat 9 PRO would not open it.  Said I need a newer version of Acrobat.

    To do that I need to uninstall Acrobat 9 and I do not want to do that.  I use Acrobat 9 PRO quite a bit to do a lot of things, but I cannot justify buying an updated version.
