That typically happens when you try to open a AEM/LiveCycle Designer PDF in a browser. You will "Please wait..." forever.

Download the PDF to your computer. Open it directly from Acrobat and not through the browser.

Is there any way to open this on a Chromebook?

We only have Chromebooks unfortunately and these documents won't open even if uploaded here in the Adobe online account. With the Android Adobe Reader either.  Only Windows, Mac and Linux support it seems.

Much thanks !

Mat

No, only Mac and Windows. There was a Linux reader years ago too, but is was discontinued over a decade ago.

Please show a screenshot that shows the Acrobat window with this message. Be sure we can see both the message and the Acrobat window/title bar.

I just downloaded it (again) and it opens fine. Make sure you are not trying to open it through a browser.

Hi, I guess I have the same issue. I've purchases the pro version, I definitely open it in app, not browser. There is and error: requires Adobe Acrobat reader dc for mac or windows. Does this mean its impossible to open in chrome is?

You said you have it open in the app but then ask about opening it in the browser.

Did you download it, open Acrobat (Pro or Reader), open the PDF from the downloads folder.

If you try to open it in a browser AT ALL, even with the Adobe Acrobat plugin, it won't work.

See the answer marked correct:  Open it directly from Acrobat and not through the browser.

That looks like an online version of Acrobat Sign or similar. Are you using a Chromebook?

As previously mentioned in this thread, it won't work on a Chromebook. Technically, you are still trying to open the PDF in a browser. You have to use a Mac or Windows computers.

Hi David, first of all, thanks for your help, however, after doing everything that you recommend I still obtain the same result. Do you know if there is another solution to this huge problem, because, those types of documents are so important if you want to do anything for immigration (Travel, work, study, etc.)? The Adobe community is the only solution that Adobe recommend and does not work also! Could you help me please?

Yes, I am having a similar problem. I did manage to open the form on Adobe but wouldn't allow me to validate. It says javascript is disabled and gives me how to enable it but wouldn't work. Help please!!!

Yes, I have the same issue. Now, I also downloaded the PDF reader, it can open the downloaded application forms. But the pro doesn't work.

Moreover,  I can use a PDF reader to open the forms such as imm5257 which I had downloaded on my laptop. So does a Foxit reader.

Assuming we are talking about the same form from over two years ago, it will work with Pro. I only use Acrobat Pro.

Hello David. I have a similar issue. I can view and fill in both my documents, there are two (Application for Study Permit Made Outside of Canada (IMM1294) (required) and Family Information Form (IMM5707)(required) ). But when I try to "valdiate" them nothings happens and a clock appears and never goes away. A barcode should appear under the documents but nothing happens. Also I cannot sign them, specially the IMM5707 format as the option is not admitted. I am attaching some photos. My Adobe Acrobat is the latest version (Architecture: x86_64 Processor: Intel Build: 25.1.20467.0 AGM: 7.1.11 CoolType: 10.0.3 JP2K: 4.0.2.54782) on MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1.
