Unable to remove the password

Question

I had a document sent to me which was/is password protected. I have the password which works fine to open and read the document, but I'm not able to remove the password in order to save it to our internal storage system. The administrator only created the password to email it securely. Now that it's within our VPN I'd like to remove the password as others within our company will likely need to view the document later down the road. It seems a bit cumbersome to keep the password now. Any suggestions?

If a password was also applied to edit the file you'll need that one to be able to remove the policy. And of course you'll need Adobe Acrobat to do it, not just the free Reader. Also, applying a security policy does not really improve the security very much. It's very easy to get around it, if a person is willing enough to do so... So if it's just making your work more complicated I would skip it entirely.
