You can't save a file if you don't make any changes to it. You can use Save As, though.

Hi jenniferw52448115,

As you have mentioned that the save window appears blank when you try to save file, please try unchecking the box for "Show online storage when saving files".

For that, go to Edit menu > Preferences > General and uncheck the box.

Make sure you click Ok to save settings.

Now try to save file and check if it works fine

Let us know if you need any help.

Regards,

Meenakshi

I have the same issue. Changing the show online storage option in preferences helped about half the time, but I still have the same issue. If I try to change a PDF attached to an e-mail i'm sending, it will not save the changes. Sometimes it even asks to save the file, but when I go back to open it up, the changes were never saved.

I have this problem when I try to send files encrypted and don't want to save them encrypted on my computer, only the e-mail I'm sending.

Here are two useful ways to save, using Reader, a PDF file received as an email attachment:

  1. Email Attachment: If the PDF is an email attachment, click the drop-down arrow next to the attachment icon in the sender's email.
  2. Save Options: Select the save option that appears.
  3. Save Locally: Browse for the desired folder on your device and save the file in the usual manner.

Second method:

  1. Open the PDF: Open the file from the original source or email using Adobe Reader.
  2. Print Option: Click the print icon since the save icon is greyed out.
  3. Select Printer: In the print dialogue box, click the arrow next to the printer options and select "Microsoft Print to PDF".
  4. Save Print Output As: Click "Print", and a Windows Explorer "Save Print Output As" folder will open.
  5. Browse and Save: Browse to the folder where you want to save the PDF, select the location, and click "Save" in the lower right section.

Done! These are really helpful tips that will definitely assist others facing similar issues. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.
