I tried to update my version of Acrobat Reader DC that is 19.021.20056 with the latest version by doing the check for updates in the program.  it errored.

I tried to uninstall from the Win 10 control panel, programs. I get this error:

Uninstallation of the patch package is not supported.

I tried the Cleaner tool. no help

Tried rebooting the laptop, no help.

Tried running the install download run as admin, no help.

Is there a manual method to remove the older broken acrobat reader

I could use some sage advice advice.

thanks

Acrobat Cleaner Tool did not fix the problem, as stated in my original post above.

I had to download Revo Unistaller and use that tool.  it did remove ALL of acrobat.  Rebooted and then could install the latest Acrobat reader.

Acrobat Reader and Pro had left several gigabytes of used msi and msp patch files on my Windows 8.1 system. Even uninstalling and using Acrobat Cleaner Tool didn't solve the problem. After uninstalling I manually removed the files and used ccleaner to fix the Registry. All gone until I reinstalled Reader then 1G of setup in install libraries msp and msi reappeared. I'm going to see if I can delete these manually again without damaging Reader.

Hi Greg

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to remove the older broken version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Please remove the application using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool here https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html , reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link - https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and check if that helps.

Regards

Amal
