Use Local Fonts Missing

Hi,

Reading a few posts on this it seems Adobe have removed the option back in Dec 2023 to use local fonts in the prefrences - page layout - rendering.

 

Is there a REG Key i could use as we use Kerridge and on some machines there invoices and other important documents open in hieroglyphics as the font cannot be read by Adobe. and either selecting the use local fonts or unselecting it resolves the issue.

 

They use a third party linux converter that creates the PDF from there file but they are blaming Adobe or Windows for the font issue.

 

I am hoping there is a reg key i can enter to either turn on or off or even create to resolve the issue as i am unsure on how to resolve this.

I suppose that a correctly formatted PDF file works on any platform. If the PDF file does not work correctly, the file has an issue. Blaming Windows or Acrobat is a bit cheap.

Try changing to the classic interface, if you can't find the correct option in the preferences.

Using the classic interface there is no "Local Fonts" there system is a unix\linux system and use's a untility to convert the item to a PDF i have tried using bUseLocalFonts in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\Originals and setting it to 0 - disabled and 1 - enabled which didnt work with a reboot.

Hi Keane,

 

Unfortantly not and Adobe seem to be a great help in this matter ("NOT").

 

The only workaround is moving from Adobe as a reader and using Chrome or Edge as the PDF reader thats the only resolution i have found.

 

Kerridge havent been helpful as well, on this in-regarding as they blame Adobe.

We are currently using the edge workaround, it's a shame they removed the 'local font' button as that was the only way to fix the issue. We even bought a pro license however we can still not find a fix.
